    What To Expect

Amongst the great Scheveningen dunes of the Hague is a collection of spectacular sculptures crafted by local and international artists from the late 20th Century. The Sculptures by the Sea Museum, or locally known as ‘Beelden aan Zee’, is where these contemporary marvels make their home. The museum has instantly become one of the top destinations in the city with its title as the only Dutch museum specializing in sculptural exhibits. Once you visit, you’ll be welcomed by the five bronze portraits of the current Royal Family towering the area and be left in awe of the fairytale-like sculptures circling its free garden. The museum presently houses over a thousand sculptures and several hundreds of medals on display. Some of the featured artists inside are?Armando, Stephan Balkenhol, Iris Le Rütte, Tony Cragg, Per Kirkeby, Giacomo Manzú, Kiki Smith, and more. And of course, true to its name, the Sculptures by the Sea museum never fails to provide each visitor the artistic inspiration that they seek while at the same time, give breathtaking views of the sea.
