Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR or HSR) runs along the country’s west coast from Taipei Main Station in the north all the way to the port city of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan. Operating since 2007, this high-speed rail line is about 345 km?in length and is referred to as Gāotíe by locals. THSR uses trains with a top speed of 300 km/h, making traveling from north to south a breeze in just 96 minutes.
